How cold is the water on the Lütschine?

Updated [last_month]
Topics

The Lütschine is a glacial river fed by snowmelt and glacier runoff. Water temperature ranges from approximately 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in May and June, rising slightly through summer to around 12 to 14 degrees in August. Full wetsuits, life jackets, and helmets are provided for all participants and handle the temperature well. Hands and face are exposed and will feel the cold, particularly in early summer. Some participants bring thin neoprene gloves for May and June departures, but they are not required.
