What are nose and tail turns?

In a nose turn, you shift your weight far forward, lift the ski tips, and rotate slightly to the side. In a tail turn, you do the same but on the ski tails. Both movements require a lot of balance and core tension. You learn to ride briefly on just one end of the skis and initiate a small turn or rotation from there. These tricks are similar to “butters” and help you develop ski control and agility. In the course, we practice them playfully and in small steps.
