What are terrain jumps in snowboarding?

Before you jump over kickers, you practice terrain jumps with us. You use small landforms like hills, piste edges, or bumps as takeoff points. You approach in relaxed stance, do a small Ollie, try to land in compact position. Terrain jumps help you gain first jumping experience. You learn how the board behaves in the air, how to stay stable, how to land safely. It is important that you stand centered, knees slightly bent, and look forward. Especially for beginners, this is a good way to practice jumps without going to the park. Often, it is also simply fun to take every small bump.
