What does slope-spin mean?

Topics

You ride slowly down a gentle slope and rotate your skis while sliding, for example 180° or 360°. You slightly unload your skis, turn your upper body in the desired direction, and guide the skis along.

The goal is to perform the rotation on the snow in a controlled way without jumping. This develops a feel for rotation, edge control, and movement coordination. We start with small turns, often just 90° or 180°. Once that works, we progress to 360°. Slope-spins are perfect for preparing the movements needed for later jumps with rotation. You do not need a kicker or speed, just balance and determination.
