What is a straight jump (basic air)?

You approach the kicker straight, bend your knees, and extend as you take off. In the air, stay calm, hands to the sides, eyes on the landing spot. Slightly tuck your skis and land with both skis simultaneously, knees bent. This is the basic jump. It gives you a feel for height, flight, and landing. We practice this sequence multiple times until it is solid and consistent. Only after that do we move on to rotations or grabs.
