Quick answer
You may only jump if the kicker is clear and you know exactly where you will land.
In the snowpark there are clear procedures for safe jumping. Wait above the kicker, check the landing, see if anyone is riding or has fallen. Never go without checking.
In the course we teach the “spot check”: ride slowly beside the kicker, examine takeoff, table, landing. Feel if speed is right or too fast.
Do not stand in the landing area while waiting. If you fall, make yourself as small as possible and leave the zone quickly.
Communication is key, always signal with hand when starting. Everyone knows you are taking the kicker. Jumping in the park is teamwork. Following rules ensures flow and safety.
