When is the Glacier Canyon open?

The Glacier Canyon Grindelwald is open daily from May to November. In summer it stays open until 8 pm. Exact dates depend on weather and snow conditions, so it's worth checking the website before your visit. The canyon is closed in winter because the walkways have to be inspected each spring by mountain guides hanging off ropes, checking the walls for loose rock. The annual inspection takes several weeks and costs around CHF 65'000.
