Key info
Overview
Turquoise water, paddle in hand, mountains all around: one hour on Lake Brienz and you feel further away than after a week of holiday.
This kayaking experience is the effortless way to discover Lake Brienz. On stable sit-on-top kayaks, we paddle close to the shore from Bönigen, splash around, play games, and spend an hour soaking up the lake. Perfect for first-timers, families, and anyone who wants to get on the water with zero experience. Free photos and videos included.
Itinerary
Meeting pointsMeet at Hightide Kayak School in Bönigen, right on the lakefront. After check-in, you receive a short briefing and your full equipment: kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid, and, if needed, wetsuit and splash jacket. Store your valuables safely in the lockers.
We paddle close to the shore from our starting point in Bönigen, past small bays and pebble beaches. Along the way, we stop for some fun with simple games, a bit of splashing around, and a swim, conditions permitting. If the day allows, we also paddle towards the Lütschine estuary to feel the gentle current of the river at a safe, controlled spot.
At the base you return your equipment. Your photos and videos are sent to you immediately after the experience.

What to bring
Cell phones and expensive cameras can easily fall into the lake. If this happens, they cannot be recovered from the bottom of Lake Brienz, which is up to 260 metres deep. It is best to leave your valuables safely in the lockers and enjoy the free photos and videos taken by your guide.
Weather info
General weather info
Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.
Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
