Overview
Paddle your kayak across the tranquil Lake Brienz and experience winter on the water.
On this half-day tour, you will paddle for about two hours in a kayak across Lake Brienz. Wrapped in a dry suit, your guide will take you to the most beautiful parts of the lake. Along the way, there is a break with hot tea.
Itinerary
Meeting pointsMeeting point is at the Hightide Base in Bönigen by the lake. Take bus 103 from Interlaken Ost directly to the Bönigen See stop. Better to be a few minutes early than late.
You will be welcomed by your guide and introduced to the itinerary. Then you receive your kayak, life jacket, neoprene clothing, and paddle jacket if desired. After a brief introduction to technique and safety, you are ready to start.
Short walk to the beach section by the lake.
You will be on the water with your kayak for about two hours. Paddle along the shore, cross the lake, or discover quiet corners. Depending on the weather, you will experience sparkling sunlight on the water or a mysterious atmosphere in the fog. There is a small break with hot tea along the way.
After paddling, return your kayak to the beach section. The walk back to the base takes only a few minutes.
Back at the base, return the equipment, change, and warm up. Photos from the guide capture your experience. Then it is time to relax and let the winter lake linger in your mind.

Weather info
General weather info
Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.
Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.

Activity-specific weather info
With the right equipment, kayaking is fun in any weather. Even in rain or snowfall, it is surprisingly beautiful. The raindrops on the water and the snowflakes around you make the experience unique. Trust us - it will be great! (In case of storms or thunderstorms, we may have to cancel or postpone tours for safety reasons.)
