Winter Spin & Fly: Jetboat & Paragliding

You'll be picked up at your chosen meeting point in Interlaken, for example at Paragliding Interlaken on Höheweg 125. Better a few minutes early than late, the shuttle doesn't wait. The drive up to Beatenberg takes about 20 minutes. On the way you already see the snowy peaks of the Jungfrau Region you're about to fly over.

At the take-off site you get your helmet and harness. Your tandem pilot explains how take-off works and how you'll land together. There's not much for you to do, apart from running a few steps at the right moment. If you want spirals or wingovers, now's the time to say so.

A few steps down the snowy slope, then the wing takes your weight. Below you are Interlaken, Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, with the mountains of the Jungfrau Region behind. How long you stay up depends on the weather, usually 10 to 20 minutes. You land right in Interlaken on the Höhematte, hand back your gear and can look at your photos and video straight away and buy them if you like them.

You make your own way to the Jetboat Base in Bönigen, for example by bus from Interlaken Ost. Leave enough time so you don't have to rush. Both activities take place on the same day, how much of a break you have in between depends on your booked times.

The base sits right on the shore of Lake Brienz. You meet your captain 10 minutes before departure and get a life jacket, splash jacket, waterproof gloves and a hat. You can leave your valuables in a locker. After a short safety briefing, you're on board.

As soon as the boat leaves the harbour, you feel what the jet drive can do: fast acceleration, tight turns, sudden changes of direction. On the way to Iseltwald, your captain stops and tells you about the area. Snowy forests and steep rock walls on both sides. On the way back it gets fast again, with 360° spins that send the water flying.

After about 25 minutes the boat docks in Bönigen and you hand back your gear. A digital souvenir photo is included, you can download it from our website within 24 hours. If you've added the video, you'll get an edited 60–90 second clip in portrait format.
