Ropes Park Interlaken is built for exactly that. 14 courses in the middle of the forest, a simple routine and a team that looks after your group from arrival to departure. Why the ropes park works for school classes
It is the largest ropes park in the Bernese Oberland and set up for groups. The routine is kept deliberately simple, so the class moves through the park on its own and you keep the overview.
There is a fitting challenge for every level: low courses for the cautious ones, platforms up to 23 metres high and a 100-metre zipline for anyone who wants more. Nobody has to do anything that does not feel right, every obstacle can be tackled at your own pace.

The itinerary from A to Z
1. Booking and preparation
he easiest way to book is through our office. Submit your request via the school groups enquiry form or give us a call. We get back to you directly and send a confirmation with all the key information.
Before the trip you need two things: the final number of participants and the consent forms for everyone under 18. You will find both here:
Tip: Have the consent forms signed by the parents in advance. If a few are missing, you as the teacher can fill in blank forms on site and sign for the minors.
2. Getting there
The ropes park sits in the forest between the Unspunnen meadow and the road to the Heimwehfluh funicular, on the edge of Interlaken.
- On foot: around 15 to 20 minutes from Interlaken West station.
- By bus: from Interlaken West towards the Heimwehfluhbahn stop, then about 10 minutes on foot. Follow the «Seilpark» signs.

Arriving by coach or car? There are paid parking spaces right on site.
3. Arrival and check-in
You check in at the ticket desk. Here you confirm the number of participants and the payment method and hand in the consent forms. You then receive the key for a locker in the basement, where the class stores its luggage safely. You return the key before departure.
4. Equipment and briefing
Our team kits everyone out with a helmet, climbing harness and gloves. This is followed by a detailed briefing on the safety system by experienced guides. At a test station the class practises handling the gear on the practice course. This practice course is mandatory for everyone, only then does it go up.
5. Climbing
Now the pupils climb on their own. They choose which of the up to 14 courses they take on, depending on their nerve and height. There is always a supervisor at the start tower who directs everyone to the courses that suit them. Suspension bridges, nets, wobbly elements and ziplines keep things varied.
6. Lunch and picnic
In the middle of the forest there is a barbecue and picnic area. Bring your own picnic or use the barbecue for free, wood, firelighters, a grill grate and tongs are provided. Snacks and drinks are also available in the reception area.
Worth knowing: the area cannot be reserved. On busy days you may share it with other school classes. There are further shaded spots throughout the park for short breaks.
7. Departure
At the end the class returns the equipment, collects the luggage and you hand back the locker key. Plan around 3 hours for the whole visit.
Safety: how well are the children secured?
The park uses the Speedrunner safety system of class E, the highest safety level. It is a continuous system: as soon as a child clips in at the start, they stay secured from beginning to end.
The key point for you: unclipping on your own is not possible, neither along the course nor on the platforms. The children simply follow the steel cable. On the ziplines too they stay secured at all times and additionally clip in a trolley. Only at the end, back on the ground, do they leave the system.

Who can climb? Age, height and supervision
The number of accessible courses depends on body height. Maximum weight is 120 kg, minimum height 110 cm.
- From 1.40 m: all 14 courses
- 1.20 m to 1.40 m: 9 courses
- 1.10 m to 1.20 m: 4 courses, an adult must accompany 1:1
For supervision:
- Up to and including 11 years: the children climb on their own, but must remain under the constant visual supervision of a responsible adult.
- 12 to 18 years: teenagers may climb without an adult on site, but need the signed consent form.
As a teacher you are welcome to climb along, but you do not have to. The children make their way through the park on their own, and a supervisor at the start always points the way.
For the youngest under 110 cm there is the ground-level Snowli Kidscourse with child-friendly obstacles.
What does the class need to bring?
Not much, we provide the complete climbing equipment.
- Sporty, comfortable clothing
- Closed shoes (no sandals)
- Rain protection
- A picnic or food for the barbecue if you like

Weather and plan B
The ropes park is open daily and in almost any weather, including light rain. It only closes in heavy, persistent rain, thunderstorms or strong wind. Check the current weather report for Interlaken shortly beforehand.
So your trip still goes ahead, there is a weather-independent alternative: the Indoor Ropes Park Grindelwald. 5 courses with 40 climbing elements, dry and windless in any weather, school price CHF 21 per person, time needed around 1.5 to 2.5 hours. For groups of 10 or more we also open outside regular hours by arrangement.
Combine it with a hike
If you want to extend the trip to a half or full day, a hike around the park is worth it. Three signposted routes from Interlaken West station:
- Rugen loop: 4.64 km, 164 metres of ascent, approx. 1.5 hrs. Viewpoints over Lake Thun and Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
- Heimwehfluh loop: 3.13 km, 138 metres of ascent, approx. 1 hr. At the top wait a panorama restaurant, a lookout tower and a playground with a toboggan run.
- Unspunnen ruin from Wilderswil: 2.95 km, 65 metres of ascent, approx. 45 min. Past the medieval castle ruin.

For school groups of 10 or more, the price starts at CHF 21 per person, staggered by age. Spectators and accompanying adults who do not climb go free.
