Itinerary

Meeting points
Day1
Day 1: Hut Approach
Meeting point is at the OUTDOOR Shop and Café in Grindelwald. After a gear check, we begin the ascent to the hut. Along the way, we review basics: walking technique, footwork training, and basic knots. Once at the top, we discuss the program and prepare for the coming days.
Day2
Day 2: Ice Training
We start early and head onto the glacier. Today focuses on crampon techniques, safe walking with an ice axe, and moving in rope teams. In the ice course, we practice step cutting, securing techniques, and self-rescue after a fall. The day ends with an introduction to crevasse rescue.
Day3
Day 3: Rock Training
Today focuses on climbing techniques. You will practice moving safely on easy rock, learn rope handling for ridge tours, and test various securing methods. Handling mobile securing devices and short rope techniques complete the day.
Day4
Day 4: Crevasse Rescue & Tour Planning
Today we perfect crevasse rescue: pulley systems, loose wheel, and crevasse fall training. Then we move on to map reading, orientation with compass and GPS, and weather knowledge. In the evening, we plan the summit tour for the next day together.
Day5
Day 5: Application Tour
Now it gets serious: On an alpine tour, we put what we have learned into practice. The route depends on weather and conditions. Here, you will see what you learned over the past few days. After descending to Grindelwald, the course ends in the afternoon.

Weather info

General weather info

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
