Itinerary

Meeting points
Arrival

Meeting point is in Grindelwald. After a brief introduction, we head to Ortweid in Schwendi, where a frozen waterfall awaits. There are various routes suitable for beginners and advanced climbers.

Ice Climbing

The day begins with a technical briefing and initial attempts on top rope. You get used to the grip of the crampons and the precise placement of the ice tools. After the first routes, you will be feeling the muscles in your arms: it is time to use your strength more efficiently. In the afternoon, we delve deeper: those ready can attempt lead climbing. The icefall changes with each swing of the axe, and routes may vary depending on conditions. Full concentration is crucial as every hold must be secure. We conclude with a brief analysis of the day and tips for the next steps in ice climbing.

Depending on ice conditions, the program may change at short notice.

Weather info

General weather info

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
