Overview

Recommended for: Anyone looking for the mountain beyond the postcard.

Hiking through snow covered forests, you immerse yourself in the untouched mountain world and enjoy breathtaking views. With a bit of luck, you might spot chamois on the slopes.

This two day snowshoe tour takes you from Grindelwald over the Grosse Scheidegg to Rosenlaui. Along the way, you will encounter snow covered forests, hidden valleys, and with some luck, chamois in their winter habitat. An overnight stay at the Brochhütte completes the experience.

Itinerary

Meeting points
Day1
Day 1: From Grindelwald to Brochhütte
We start in Grindelwald at Obere Gletscher and strap on our snowshoes. Through the snowy forest, we steadily climb uphill to the Stepfihütte, where the forest opens up. After a break, we continue towards the Grosse Scheidegg. From here, the view opens up to the Haslital, surrounded by steep rock walls and vast snow slopes. The descent leads us to Schwarzwaldalp; right into the wildlife reserve. With a bit of luck, we might spot the chamois that winter here. A final ascent brings us to the Brochhütte, where we end the day comfortably.

Day 2: Circular Tour around Cheerhubel
Early in the morning, we follow undulating terrain to the Hagelseewli, often frozen under a blanket of snow. Here we take time to enjoy the tranquility and perhaps observe some wildlife. We continue through the Wischbääch Valley, past Gemsberg, and up to Chiemattenhubel. At the summit, there is an impressive panoramic view over the snow-covered Bernese Alps. We then slowly descend towards Grindelwald, with the landscape changing with every step.

Weather info

General weather info

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
