Freestyle Instruction
2.5 hrs

The instruction is based on the group's ability and adapts to the conditions in the park. One day we might practice our first 50-50 on the box, the next it's a 180° over the kicker. Stance, takeoff, landing. We focus on clean technique and show you how to progress with control. You will receive honest feedback and clear tips – step by step.

Depending on the group's level, you will learn different tricks in the course. Here are some examples and what they involve:

Slope Tricks

  • Switch (Riding Fakie): Riding backward with a view over your shoulder. You get used to the feeling of having the other foot forward, important for many tricks where you need to land or ride switch.
  • Ollie (Jump from Riding): Pop from the tail, pull knees up, land softly. The basis for everything involving jumps – on the slope, in the park, on rails.
  • Slope Spins (Ground Spins): Spins on the slope without taking off. You practice 180° and 360° as surface spins – ideal for timing, rotation, and board control.
  • Nose & Tail Turns: You press on the nose or tail, lift the other end, and rotate slightly. Trains balance and agility – also looks impressive.
  • Tail Spin (Buttering 360°): A full spin over the tail. Advanced riders try to execute a clean rotation with pressure and feel on the ground – requires finesse.
  • Slide-Out (Revert): Controlled switch back to regular riding after a spin or trick. Helps you turn mistakes into style.
  • Terrain Jumps: We look for small edges or bumps to jump off. It's about feeling for timing, body tension, and landing – before heading into the park.
  • 180°: You jump a half rotation, land switch, and continue riding. We coach technique and focus – first on the ground, then in the air.
  • 360°: The full rotation – from an ollie or with some airtime. You learn how to combine momentum, body rotation, and balance.

Park / Rails

  • Park Etiquette: What is the rule on the box? Who has the right of way? When can I jump? Safety comes first. We will go over it before we start.
  • Switch in the Park: You ride backward onto an obstacle or land switch. We help you maintain balance and control even in unfamiliar positions.
  • Introduction to Box Riding (50-50): Straight onto the box, board flat, let it glide. You learn to align yourself, maintain balance, and ride off smoothly.
  • 180° On or Off the Box: You jump a half rotation on entry or exit. Timing, pop, and focus – we pay close attention.
  • Slides on Boxes (Boardslide): You position the board sideways and slide across the box. Precision, body tension, confidence – we will show you how it is done.
  • Introduction to Rails: Narrow, round obstacles require precision. We start low and safe, focusing on technique and control.

Park / Air

  • Jumping Etiquette: Only go when the kicker is clear. Before jumping, we check speed, technique, and landing. Clear process for safety and flow.
  • Basic Air (Straight Jump): You jump straight over the kicker, keep your position stable, and land in control. We help you find timing and body tension.
  • Switch Straight Jump: Jump backward, land backward. You learn to embrace fakie airtime – clean, calm, with awareness.
  • 180° in the Park: You rotate in the air and land switch. We work on takeoff, rotation, and focus – depending on the direction (frontside or backside).
  • Grabs: Indy, melon, nose, or tail. You grab the board in the air – with control and style. We help you coordinate timing and movement.
  • Switch Jumps: Tricks approached fakie or landed fakie. For those who progress quickly or just crave new challenges.
  • Jump Variations: Shifty, tweaks, small style moves. Once you're confident jumping, we incorporate creativity and expression – for your own flow.
  • 360° in the Park: All the way around. You combine takeoff, rotation, and body tension. We give you the tools to nail it cleanly – when you're ready.
