Why you should jump together!

Why you should jump together!

Imagine this: You are sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with your best friends in a small plane at 13,000 feet. The door slides open, cold air rushes in, and one by one, your friends disappear into the blue before it’s finally your turn. A group skydive is so much more than just a collection of individual adrenaline rushes—it’s a collective experience that bonds you forever.

Why Jumping Together Is Different

Jumping out of an airplane alone takes courage, but doing it together changes the dynamic completely. It stops being just about your jump and becomes about our adventure.

Shared Courage

You sit together in the plane. You see the tension on your friends' faces, the nervous laughter, the laser focus. This shared tension creates a connection you rarely find in everyday life. You push each other. When you see your friend take that step out the door, it gives you that final burst of determination to follow them. You aren't just watching a movie; you are sharing the thrill and excitement in real-time.

Memories That Stick

Each of you will experience the jump differently, but you share the same context. The "Remember when..." stories will have a whole new meaning at every reunion. You are creating a story that belongs only to you. It’s an experience that burns deep into the collective memory of your friendship—one you'll be talking about over beers for years to come.

Strengthening Friendship

Mastering an extreme situation together—and freefall is definitely extreme for the human brain—welds you together. You are leaving your comfort zones as a unit. The trust that builds when you support and motivate each other through something this intense strengthens the group enormously. You grow as a team because you broke through a barrier together.

Planning Your Group Skydive

To ensure the day runs smoothly and the focus remains on the fun, a little organization goes a long way. Don't worry, we'll help you sort it out.

Choosing the Right Provider

When booking, make sure the provider has experience with groups and the right capacity. Here in Interlaken, we use airplanes that can carry up to 8 tandem pairs at once. This is crucial so you actually sit in the same plane and aren't split onto different flights. You want to high-five at altitude, not just on the ground!

Dates and Weather

Skydiving depends entirely on the weather. Plan ahead, but stay flexible. Ideally, schedule the jump for the middle of your trip, not the very last day. This gives you a buffer if wind or clouds try to spoil the party. Check with your group: Does everyone have time on the backup date?

Preparation

Read up on the process together. It takes the edge off the nervousness. Important rule: Come well-rested and sober. A hangover and freefall are a terrible combination. Eat a light meal beforehand. Also, prepare mentally: Talk about your expectations and fears. Admitting you're nervous isn't a sign of weakness; it's a sign of respect for what you're about to do.

The Flow of a Group Skydive

From the ground to the sky and back—here is what your shared adventure looks like.

Briefing

On the ground, you receive the safety briefing together. You learn the body position for the exit (the "Banana"!), the freefall, and the landing. This is where the mode switches from "joking around" to "focus." The tandem masters check your gear, and you meet your instructors.

The Flight Up

The 15-minute climb to altitude is often the most intense part of the anticipation. You enjoy the view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks and the lakes around Interlaken. The mood in the plane is a mix of awe and rising adrenaline. Use this time to give each other a reassuring nod.

Freefall

Then it happens fast. Red light, yellow light, green light. The door opens. You jump in quick succession. Outside, the absolute rush awaits: about 45 seconds of freefall at up to 120 mph. Even though you aren't holding hands, knowing your friends are experiencing the same rush in the same airspace is incredible.

Canopy Ride

After the parachute opens, it gets quiet. You hang securely in the harness and glide for 5 to 7 minutes toward the ground. Often, you can see your friends' parachutes nearby and wave to them as you circle over the Alps.

Landing

You land one after another at the dropzone. This is the moment of pure euphoria. As soon as you are unhooked, you run toward each other. High fives, hugs, disbelief. The adrenaline needs release—and you celebrate your bravery together.

Safety for Groups

Fun is good; safety is essential. Even in a group, we never get careless.

Experienced Tandem Masters

You are jumping with pros. Our instructors are licensed and have thousands of jumps under their belts. They take full responsibility for the technical side so you can focus on the experience.

Top-Tier Gear

Rely on modern equipment. Every system has a main parachute, a reserve parachute, and an automatic activation device. The gear is strictly controlled and regularly checked.

Clear Instructions

Even though you are there as a squad, during the jump, you only listen to your own tandem master. Follow instructions precisely. No private stunts, no experiments. Enjoy the jump, but let the pro do the work.

Facts & Stats

  • Safety: Our instructors have at least 10,000 jumps each.
  • Capacity: Up to 8 tandems (16 people including pilots) per plane allow for real group experiences.

Conclusion

A group skydive is much more than just action. It is a bonding element that welds friends even closer together. Overcoming fear together and sharing this intense rush creates a memory that lasts.
