Komfortzonenmodell

How shared experiences of leaving the comfort zone positively influence and expand our pool of experience

To support your employees in stepping out of their comfort zone to learn new things, it’s helpful for both you and your team to understand the comfort zone model.

This model differentiates between three stages:

  • the comfort zone,
  • the learning zone, and
  • the panic zone.

In the comfort zone, we feel safe and can carry out our work without much effort.
When we step out of this zone into the learning zone, we are able to acquire new tasks or steps. However, leaving the comfort zone often creates discomfort in addition to a positive learning effect. Depending on personal traits, this can lead to automatic rejection of new work processes.

But it is precisely in the learning zone that the opportunity lies — for individuals, teams, and companies to grow, without crossing the boundary into the panic zone. In our view, it’s about developing and integrating new habits in order to grow together.

Panikzone Kontrollverlust, Lähmung

Our outdoor event offers, specifically designed for this management change, provide targeted support in training your team to step out of their comfort zone. We believe in the power of the team—supporting each other and mastering a learning step together.

For example, your team can take on their first climbing attempts with us while tackling a section of the imposing and awe-inspiring north face of the Eiger. Daring something extraordinary—both for yourself and your colleagues—can unlock new energy for your day-to-day work. In the work environment, the experiences shared while climbing can foster stronger bonds and improved teamwork. Moreover, through engaging in unfamiliar activities outdoors, people often discover and appreciate new sides of themselves and others.
