The alarm rings at 2:50 AM. We rub the sleep from our eyes and have breakfast. Soon we head to the boot room - put on climbing harnesses, lace up our mountain boots, and strap on the anniversary ice axe. At 4:00 AM, nine of us leave the Mönchsjoch Hut. We descend the hut path to the Jungfraujoch. There, we rope up and trek across the glacier to the Jungfrau spur. The anniversary ice axe shows its full strength in cutting steps, and Freddy, our mountain guide, wields it with his usual expertise. A steep ramp leads us to the spur, which we climb on beautiful rock. At the breakfast spot, we take a drink and fortify ourselves for the next part. We ascend over the snow shoulder towards the Rottalsattel. Here too, the anniversary ice axe is in use. It and Freddy make the climb significantly easier. The sun rises, bathing the entire landscape in a glowing red - an impressive natural spectacle and a reward for getting up early. Another Ovo Sport and a sip from the thermos, and the 50-meter climb to the Rottalsattel, our key point today, begins. At the Rottalsattel, the anniversary ice axe serves as an anchor for the rope, allowing our following rope teams to ascend comfortably. Now the route leads us steeply up to the summit of the Jungfrau. We've made it - Barbara, Ueli, Renate, Anja, Stefan, Christian, Sandra, and Tina stand together with mountain guide Freddy and the anniversary ice axe on the summit of the Jungfrau! What a view and what an achievement. Congratulations. The anniversary ice axe was also on the Jungfrau for the first time.

The fresh wind doesn't exactly invite lingering, so we soon begin our descent. We carefully descend to the Rottalsattel and rope down onto the glacier. We then descend over the glacier break and quickly return to the Jungfraujoch. At 11:15 AM, we meet our colleagues Tatjana and Michelle, who were on the Mönch with mountain guide Loïc.
