Alois on the Road with the Youth, July 2023
125 Years of the Grindelwald Mountain Guides Association

In July, I had the opportunity to join JO I on their tour week as the anniversary ice ax. I was thrilled and impressed to be out and about with the young folks!
They took me everywhere: via zipline over the stream to climbing, onto the glacier, up the via ferrata, and to the 3610m high Barrhorn. The young, motivated climbers were in great spirits, laughing a lot and always coming up with something! They particularly enjoyed playing with stones... On the Adlerflüe, where the via ferrata leads, they built a cairn as tall as a person! And it was stable 😊 Some of the fearless young mountaineers even swam in the glacier lake... I just watched from the shore... I still prefer water in its solid state.
I will definitely remember the week at the Turtmann Hut fondly. It's fantastic that the youth are also undertaking such cool tours in the beautiful mountain world.
Joining us were Amélie, Fabienne, Kevin, Kassym, Larina, Parul, Marco, Fiona, Lara, Maurin, Leonie, Vito, and the leaders Ursina, Sabrina, and Laura.
