Overview
Rock first, then ice: A tour for those who love variety: from the via ferrata to the glacier world of the Steingletscher.
This tour combines two alpine worlds: First, we ascend via the Tierbergli via ferrata, then we explore the glacier with crampons. A mountain guide shows the best path and shares fascinating insights about the Steingletscher. This varied day will surely remain a memorable experience for you.
Itinerary
Meeting pointsIn the morning, we meet at the Hotel Steingletscher and drive together to the Umpol parking lot. There, we gear up and start directly into the via ferrata.
Two sections lead us through rocky terrain. If you wish to stop along the way, you can reach the hut via a hiking trail. With the guide's tips, we conquer the rest of the Tierbergli via ferrata. After about three hours, we reach the Tierbergli hut, where we enjoy a well-deserved break with views of the surrounding peaks.
After the break, we continue onto the glacier. With crampons and rope, we explore the eternal ice, follow crevasses, and learn more about the history and dynamics of the Steingletscher.
In the mid-afternoon, we return to the Tierbergli hut and descend via the hiking trail to the Umpol parking lot. We end the day leisurely at the Hotel Steingletscher.

Weather info
General weather info
Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.
Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
