Overview

Recommended for: Anyone looking for the mountain beyond the postcard.

The silence of the glacier, the rugged charm of a forgotten mountain hut, and breathtaking views await you.

This tour combines history with glacier adventure. From the Jungfraujoch, we ascend as a roped team over the Ewig Schneefeld to the secluded Bergli Hut. Crevasses, snowfields, and rock steps make the journey exciting. Off the beaten path, we experience the untouched high mountain world up close.

Arrival

Our adventure begins at the Jungfraujoch, where we marvel at the vastness of the Aletsch Glacier.

Glacier Tour
2 - 3 hrs

From the tunnel exit at 3,464 m above sea level, our path first leads to the Mönchsjoch Hut. The glacier crunches softly under our feet as we acclimate to the altitude. At the pass at 3,529 m above sea level, we prepare as a roped team and enter the Ewig Schneefeld. The landscape becomes wilder, the path more primitive. Ahead lies a fascinating world of ice and snow, which we traverse step by step. Soon, the roof of the Bergli Hut appears. But the path there demands full attention: The glacier is crevassed, we navigate around crevasses and finally climb over rocks.

Bergli Hut

Arriving on the small wooden terrace, we enjoy the fantastic views and the moment – a piece of alpine history amidst untouched nature.

Return
2 - 3 hrs

After a rest, we tackle the return journey. The ascent to the Mönchsjoch is short but challenging. Then we follow our tracks back to the Mönchsjoch Hut and finally to the Jungfraujoch.
