Ascent

Early in the morning, we start in Rosenlaui. The first altitude meters lead through steep forest passages. Then the terrain opens up, and we cross flatter sections up to the Rosenlaui bivouac. After a short break, we continue onto the glacier, which leads us in a steady climb to the Wellhorn saddle. Here, we get our first impressive view of the surrounding mountains. From the Wellhorn saddle, a traverse to the Wetter saddle awaits. From here, it gets serious: The skis are left behind, and with crampons and ice axes, we climb the last steep meters up to the summit of the Wetterhorn.

Summit

The view from up here is unique: The Bernese Alps stretch out in all directions, while the Grindelwald Valley lies deep below us.

Descent

After a short summit break, we carefully descend to the ski depot. The descent into Rosenlaui requires concentration. Changing steep slopes, glacier sections, and wide hollows provide a varied descent experience. Once at the bottom, the feeling of a grand tour remains, combining endurance, technique, and mountain knowledge.

Weather info

General weather info

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
