A day full of movement, nature, and tranquility in an impressive high-mountain world.
Itinerary
Meeting pointsThe tour starts at Grindelwald Terminal. From here, we take the train up to Jungfraujoch, the heart of the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage site. After a short walk through the tunnel, we stand on the glacier.
The first ascent takes us in about an hour to the Mönchsjoch Hut. Here, we strap on our snowshoes. The route leads over the vast 'Ewigschneefäld' and down into a glacier hollow below the Walcherhorn. The landscape is impressive: nothing but snow and ice; silent except for the crunching of snowshoes. After a long break, we begin the final ascent. At a steady pace, we go step by step higher until we finally stand on the summit of Walcherhorn.
The view is magnificent: the south face of the Eiger, the Wetterhorn, the Schreckhorn, and far below us the Grindelwald valley. At the top, we enjoy our picnic and let the experience sink in. Perhaps our mountain guide has a story to share?
After the break, we take the same path back. In the afternoon, we return from Jungfraujoch to the valley.

General weather info
Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.
Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
