Itinerary

Meeting points
After meeting in Grindelwald, we walk to the Pfingstegg cable car. We board the gondola, which quickly takes us up to Pfingstegg. We enjoy the beautiful view of the Grindelwald Valley. A few minutes into the hike, we enter the UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch. The path meanders gently along the Wysseflüö. Soon, we rise above the tree line, and the path becomes steeper and more challenging. At the first stop, we get a good view of the rockfall area Schlossplatte, and our hiking guide/mountain guide tells us its story. Along the way, we discuss climate change and its consequences as the glacier retreats. The "turnoff" to the Stieregg hut further illustrates the effects of glacier retreat. We continue hiking up until we finally reach the Bäregg hut. A fantastic view of the mountains and valley awaits us here. On one side, the wild glaciers of the Ischmeer, and on the other side, the charming alpine meadows of Grindelwald. With a refreshing drink, we learn more interesting facts about glaciers. After a refreshment, we begin our descent back to Pfingstegg.

General weather info

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
