Your safe way to the mountains

Outdoor offers you a step-by-step training system that prepares you perfectly for your mountain adventures. The Introductory Mountaineering Course is about finding out whether mountaineering is something you enjoy and want to pursue further. If you can answer “yes” to that question and want more, you move on to the Basic Mountaineering Course. In this course, you’ll learn fundamental techniques for rock and ice. Afterward, you’ll be ready for your first mountain tours with a mountain guide. Gain experience and enjoy some great tours.

If you’re interested in planning and leading your first easy mountain tours with your friends, then take the Advanced Mountaineering Course. Over five days, the focus is not only on improving your technical skills but also on tour planning and weather assessment.
If you're only interested in specific areas of mountaineering, we also offer targeted modules – the Ice Module and the Rock Module – where you can develop your skills in those disciplines.

Again, the idea is to go on tours and build more experience before moving on to the final stage: Rope Team Coaching. This course focuses on technical refinements and rope handling on rock and ice. It’s designed for experienced mountaineers who want to improve their rope work.

Depending on the season, accommodation is either at the Gleckstein Hut or at Hotel Alpenblick in Grindelwald (see course dates).
