The Glacier Canyon Grindelwald is a experience that takes you into the history of the Grindelwald Glacier. As you walk along walkways and through tunnels between 300-meter-high rock walls, you hear the rushing Lütschine and discover themed areas on geology, water, and myths. A highlight is the 170 m² Spiderweb, a net over the gorge that offers new perspectives and a bit of thrill.

How to get there

You can reach the Glacier Canyon from the village in just a few minutes. Buses run regularly from the station directly to the entrance, and the Grindelwald guest card serves as a bus ticket. Free parking is also available right at the entrance.

Entrance and Start

At the entrance, you receive you can purchase or show your ticket. Admission also includes access to the Crystal Museum. From here, you start on the secured walkway into the Canyon.

Path through the Canyon
1 - 2 hrs

The path leads about 1 km deep into the canyon and back the same way. You walk through tunnels and galleries, see 300 m high rock walls, and learn more about geology, water, myths, and the former glacier from info boards. The temperature remains consistently cool.

Spiderweb

A highlight is the 170 m² net stretched 7 m above the Lütschine. Here you can move freely, test your balance, and see the canyon from a unique perspective.

Night Experience

Every Friday evening from April to November, the canyon is open until 10 PM. Colorful lighting makes the area around the Spiderweb a special experience.

After the Tour

At the end, you return the same way. At the exit, you can visit the Crystal Museum or pick up a souvenir from the shop.
