Arrival

The tour begins in Saas-Fee, where we take the Alpin Express and the Metro Alpin up. At the mid-station, we enter the high alpine terrain through a tunnel.

Ascent
3 hrs

After a short section over moraine debris, we reach the Hohlaub Glacier, where we rope up. The ascent begins gently but soon the glacier becomes steeper, leading us directly to the ridge. We continue up the Hohlaubgrat, alternating between snow and rock. Soon we reach the key section: a short, enjoyable climbing passage that can be easily mastered with good technique and crampons.

Summit

After the final meters of ascent, we stand on the 4,027 m high summit of the Allalinhorn. The view extends over the entire Valais Alps to Mont Blanc.

Descent
2 hrs

After a rest at the summit, we descend via the normal route to Mittelallalin, from where the Metro Alpin conveniently takes us back to Saas-Fee.

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
