Day1
Day 1: Hut approach to Ostegg Hut
From Grindelwald, take the train to Alpiglen. Here begins the approach to the Ostegg Hut. Initially on a hiking trail, then up an airy via ferrata. The route leads over exposed rocks with the help of iron steps and wire cables – an exciting preview of what's to come. At the Ostegg Hut, a secluded, spectacularly located accommodation awaits you. Your mountain guide prepares a hearty dinner while you enjoy the valley view and evening atmosphere.

The ridge calls. Over scree fields and rock bands, you scramble up until you reach the Ostegg Ridge. The route is varied: climbing, exposed sections, and you even pass through a narrow hole in the rock. Further up, several challenging climbing sections in the 5th grade await. Every meter demands concentration and skills. The Mittellegi Hut, spectacularly located on the ridge, offers a delicious dinner and a wonderful sunset.

Day 3: Climb the Mittellegi Ridge to the Eiger
Before sunrise, the journey begins. Headlamps light the way as you climb step by step. The Mittellegi Ridge is exposed and demands full attention. Fixed ropes assist at difficult sections, but surefootedness is essential. The view into the north face is immense. After the Great Gendarme, the route continues along a narrow snow ridge to the summit of the Eiger. The descent follows the South Ridge and passes the Eigerjöcher to the Jungfraujoch – a long, technical descent that demands everything once again.

General weather info

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
