Multiple high-altitude tour experiences required

Overview

Recommended for: Anyone who trades comfort for the view.

Start early, headlamp on, and into the alpine terrain: The Gross Fiescherhorn challenges you with every meter of elevation.

After a night at the Mönchsjoch Hut, the route takes you over the Ewig Schneefeld up to the Walchergrat. A sharp firn ridge leads you to the summit, with views of the Eiger, Schreckhorn, and the Grindelwald valley. Challenging but rewarding in the heart of the Bernese Alps.

Itinerary

Meeting points
Day1
Day 1: Ascent to Mönchsjoch Hut 3,650 m a.s.l.
Take the train up to the Jungfraujoch. This is where acclimatization begins – the air is thin, every step counts. From the Aletsch exit, you hike on a marked path to the Mönchsjoch Hut. A short but valuable approach to get used to the altitude. At the hut, you meet the mountain guide for final arrangements for the summit day.

Day2
Day 2: Summit Tour to Gross Fiescherhorn 4,048 m a.s.l.
Start early, using headlamps to find your way through the darkness. First across the flat Ewig Schneefeld, then up to the Walchergrat. The air gets thinner, the ridge steeper. Some rock climbing, bare ice, firn – full concentration is required here. At the summit, the view opens up: The north face drops steeply, Eiger and Schreckhorn stand in a row. After a short break, descend the same route back to the hut and the Jungfraujoch.

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
