Overview

Recommended for: Anyone who trades comfort for the view.

Three days in the high mountains: boulders, glaciers, exposed climbing – a tour for experienced alpinists.

The Schreckhorn at 4,078 m above sea level is a challenge: A long, demanding ascent through one of the wildest areas of the Alps. Technical climbing, narrow ridges, and a solitary summit make this tour unforgettable. The Schreckhorn is not only the northernmost 4,000-meter peak in the Alps but, true to its name, also the most challenging.

Itinerary

Day1
Day 1: Ascent to Schreckhorn Hut
We gain the first elevation with the Pfingstegg cable car. Then the ascent begins through a rugged, wild landscape. At the Bäregg Hut, the sun terrace invites you to take a short break with a view of the impressive Fiescherwand. From here, the path narrows and leads over rock steps, iron rungs, and ladders. The Schreckhorn Hut is spectacularly located at 2,530 m above sea level, offering cool drinks and a view of the next day's climb.

Day 2: Tour to Schreckhorn 4,078 m via Andersongrat
We leave the hut in the dark. First, we climb through boulder terrain, then it gets serious: climbing passages, exposed ridges, and a steep glacier ascent to Nässijoch. The Andersongrat is a long, demanding high-altitude tour with exposed climbing sections – here, technique and endurance are key. At the summit: 4,078 m above sea level, deep silence, endless expanse. Then begins the long descent via the normal route to the hut, where we recover from the tour.

Weather can influence any tour, and a clear decision is often only possible on the day itself. We review conditions carefully and remain within our safety limits, and bad weather alone does not mean we have to stop.

Make sure we can reach you with current contact information in case your booking changes. Silence from us means your tour is still planned or the final call is not yet made. If we need to cancel, you can rebook, choose another activity, or get a full refund.
