Day 1: Ascent to Bordier Hut
From the meeting point in Gasenried, the path leads steadily uphill along the Riedbach. First through shady forest, then over expansive alpine meadows, before the vegetation gradually gives way and we reach the moraine. We finally ascend over the debris-covered glacier to the Bordier Hut. There we enjoy the tranquility, study the next day's tour, and gather strength for the big day.

Still in the dark, we descend to the Ried Glacier. After a traverse, we move through boulder terrain to the Galenjoch. From here, the long, challenging ridge begins: First the Chli Dirruhorn, followed by 3 more 4000m peaks – Dirruhorn, Hohbärghorn, and Stecknadelhorn. The rock is sometimes loose, sometimes solid, requiring full concentration. The final challenge is the Nadelhorn, the highest point of the tour.
